Established by Dr Frank O’Connor and Jude Sherry, Anois combines design, art, research, activism, strategy and culture for social justice, equality, circularity and sustainability to challenge unsustainable systems and cultural norms through policy, practice and protest. Anois are the instigators of the grassroots phenomenon that is #DerelictIreland.
Anois called for a circular economy in Ireland in 1989 in a seminal publication, that was over 30 years ahead of Irish Government policy.
Frank was part of the pioneering ecodesign movement that emerged in the 1990s and also founded and led the award winning Ecodesign Centre in 2006, an International Centre of Excellence. While no longer in existence it is still cited as best practice globally, in particular for its applied nature and helix based progress model
